STUDIO NEWS, ACTIVITIES & ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE PILATES STUDIOŽ OF SEATTLE:
The Pilates StudioŽ of Seattle has continued to receive media exposure including the business section of Seattle PI, the morning daily and a feature on local television on the Evening Magazine show. The studio also ran a very successful advertising campaign in conjunction with the press and television features which stimulated many inquires resulting in many new clients.

THE PILATES STUDIOŽ OF THE MIDWEST:
The Pilates StudioŽ of the Midwest celebrated its second year of business on June 1, 1997. An open house for clients, staff and friends took place at the studio along with special activities for the day. Presentations were given by guest speakers including Romana Kryzanowska on the history and development of Authentic Pilates™T of Body Conditioning and Dr. Ian Jasenof on the topic of osteoporosis and bone density testing. During the spring and summer, media exposure for the studio included 2 television programs on Chicago Cable Television. Director Fatima Bruhns was interviewed and staff from the studio demonstrated aspects of Authentic Pilates™T of Body Conditioning. The studio was also included in an article titled "Stretch Your Body and Mind" for the special fall edition of Today, a magazine published by Marshall Fields.

On October 17 - 19, The Pilates StudioŽ of the Midwest participated with other Chicago area certified instructors in a promotion for activities revolving around the annual La Salle Bank Chicago Marathon with over 18,000 participants.

In addition to seminars scheduled for 1998, The Pilates StudioŽ of the Midwest will also be offering a 3 part series of classes. These will be presented by physical therapist and certified instructor, Loribeth Cohen, and massage therapist Bobbie Berman. The first series, a 10 week course on human anatomy will begin January 17. THE PILATES STUDIOŽ AT THE ATLANTA BALLET:
The Pilates StudioŽ at the Atlanta Ballet opened on September 2, 1997 under the Direction of Penelope Wyer. The Pilates StudioŽ is the only certified studio in the state of Georgia and the only certification center in the Southeast. Mat classes are offered daily, as well as private sessions by appointment. Fitness Foundations has opened its doors of its 2,600 square foot studio adjacent to the Oak Brook Shopping Center, Oak Brook, Illinois. The studio specializes in Authentic Pilates™T of Body Conditioning. Linda Tremain, P.T.,certified instructor, utilizes her eleven years of experience gained in physical therapy and her collegiate level of competitive gymnastics to design personalized programs.

This past summer, Tremain implemented the Method to over 500 Olympic figure skating hopefuls at the Olympic skating center in Lake Placid, New York. For more information call (630)-573-5877.
